Should i get my boyfriend an anniversary gift?

Lately our relationship has been edgy! I moved into my own apartment and he is still living in our old apartment! We have been together for 4 years, but like i said lately its been questionable if we are going to even see another anniversary after this one! Should i use the occasion to try to spruce our relationship back to life or just wait to see if he gets me anything? (The reason i moved out is because he has failed to bring me into al lthe areas of his life, and he still hasnt proposed to me) After 4 years a person should know what they do and do not want! So any advice is helpful, but please no offensive of lame answers!!! Thanks again
