Scary events that happened along time ago?

I'm looking for horrifying/ paranormal/ gruesome/ or explainable events that happened in the 17, or 1800's, I got caught up in Jack the Ripper, and the Bell witch of Tennessee, and even The Blair witch project, does anybody know anything else thats creepy but really happened? please tell me thanks :)
